Frequently Asked Questions

  • Breathwork and bodywork are body-based practices that support awareness, regulation, and reconnection through the breath and the body. Rather than working only with thoughts or talking things through, these practices bring the body into the process.

Breathwork uses conscious breathing to help calm the nervous system, release tension, and reconnect with the body’s natural rhythm. Bodywork involves respectful touch and somatic practices that support grounding, presence, and a sense of safety in the body.

Together, these practices offer a way to listen to what the body is communicating and respond with care.

  • Modern life often keeps the nervous system in a state of constant alert. Breathwork and bodywork help the body feel safe enough to slow down.

Through conscious breathing and gentle body-based practices, the nervous system can shift from stress and activation into rest and regulation. Many people notice increased calm, clarity, and a greater sense of grounding, as well as an improved ability to respond to life rather than react to it.

This work supports balance rather than forcing change.

  • Many people are drawn to these practices during periods of burnout, transition, or change, when familiar ways of coping no longer feel supportive.

Breathwork and bodywork offer space to pause, reconnect, and gently orient during uncertain or demanding times. Rather than fixing or pushing for outcomes, the work supports steadiness, presence, and self-awareness while things are shifting.

  • This work can be helpful if you’re feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply aware that something needs to shift.

You might feel mostly in your head, find it hard to switch off, or notice that stress and tension are building in your body. You may be going through a period of change, or just feeling stretched, tired, or not quite like yourself.

These sessions offer a way to slow things down, reset, and create space to process what you’re holding — physically and emotionally.

You don’t need to have a clear problem or be in crisis. Curiosity, or a sense that something feels off, is often enough.

If you’re unsure, you’re welcome to begin with a group session, book a consultation, or email me at hello@herwildernature.com.

  • Each session begins with a short conversation to check in and understand what is present for you on the day. This helps guide the session in a way that feels supportive and appropriate.

You may also be invited to set a simple intention for the session, or bring awareness to what you’d like support with.

You will then be guided through breathwork and, where suitable, gentle body-based practices to support grounding and awareness. Sessions move at a pace that feels respectful and safe.

You remain in control throughout and are always welcome to pause, adjust, or ask questions.

Time is included at the end for rest and integration. You’re welcome to journal or simply take a moment to reflect before moving on with your day.

  • Breathwork works with the nervous system, supporting the body to move between gentle activation and rest.

As awareness increases, you may notice physical sensations such as warmth, tingling, changes in breathing, emotional responses, or memories arising. These experiences vary from person to person and from session to session.

The focus is not on forcing release or transformation, but on listening to the body and allowing it to respond at its own pace.

  • Both breathwork and bodywork may include gentle, supportive touch, always offered with clear consent and communication.

Bodywork is more hands-on and may include gentle touch to support awareness in the body and help release tension.

Breathwork is usually guided through the breath and awareness, and may occasionally include light touch where appropriate.

You are always in control, and touch is only included if it feels comfortable for you.

Online sessions are guided verbally and focus on breath, awareness, and self-directed practices.

  • No. You remain aware and in control throughout.

You’re always free to pause, adjust, or stop at any time. Everything is guided in a way that feels safe and manageable, and you are never pushed beyond what feels right for you.

  • No. There’s space to speak at the beginning or end if you’d like to, but there is no expectation to share.

You’re welcome to keep your experience private and simply focus on what’s happening in your body.

  • No previous experience is needed. Many people come to breathwork and bodywork for the first time through Her Wilder Nature.

Sessions are guided clearly and gently, and everything is offered as an invitation rather than an instruction. You are encouraged to listen to your body and move at a pace that feels right for you.

    Beginners are very welcome.

  • I currently offer in person breathwork and bodywork sessions in North London, including Muswell Hill, Crouch End, and Highgate.

Exact locations may vary depending on the type of session, and details are shared at the time of booking. I also offer online sessions for those who are not based locally.

  • Yes. Online breathwork sessions are available for people based anywhere.

While bodywork is primarily offered in person, online sessions can still be deeply supportive through guided breathwork, awareness practices, and nervous system regulation. Many people appreciate the option to work from the comfort of their own home.

  • In person sessions allow for shared physical presence and, where appropriate body-based work. They can be especially supportive for those who value being held in a physical space.

Online sessions focus more on breathwork, guided awareness, and verbal support. They offer flexibility and accessibility, and can be just as grounding when approached with intention.

We can explore together which format feels most supportive for you.

  • Because breathwork works with the nervous system, there are some situations where it may not be appropriate or may need to be adapted.

If any of the following apply to you, please let me know before booking so we can make sure this work is safe and supportive for you.

    Medical considerations

    • Epilepsy

    • Detached retina or glaucoma

    • Osteoporosis

    • Cardiovascular or heart conditions

    • Recent surgery or significant injury that has not fully healed

    • Pregnancy

    • Asthma (breathwork may still be possible, but please bring your inhaler and let me know in advance)

    Psychological considerations

    • A prior diagnosis of bipolar disorder or schizophrenia

    • Psychotic or borderline psychotic states

    • Any mental health condition that may affect your ability to engage safely in practices involving strong emotional or physical sensations

If any of these apply, this work may not be appropriate at this time, or it may need to be adapted. We can explore this together during a consultation and decide what feels safe and supportive.

If you’re unsure whether this work is right for you, you’re welcome to book a free consultation, email me at hello@herwildernature.com, or check in with your GP.

Breathwork and bodywork are not a substitute for medical care, psychotherapy, or mental health treatment. They may complement other forms of support, but they do not replace professional care.

Your safety and wellbeing always come first.

  • You don’t need to do anything complicated to prepare.

It’s best to avoid a heavy meal for at least 60–90 minutes before the session.

For online sessions, make sure you have a stable internet connection and a quiet space where you won’t be interrupted. You’ll need a comfortable space where you can lie down, sit, or move gently if needed — such as a yoga mat, bed, or soft surface. A blanket can also help you stay warm.

For in-person sessions, please bring water, an eye mask, and a journal if you have one. A journal can be helpful for noting anything that comes up during the session, or simply giving yourself a moment to reflect afterwards.

For both online and in-person sessions, wear comfortable clothing that allows you to breathe and move your body freely.

Everything else will be provided, and you can arrive as you are.

  • Online group sessions are £25 and kept intentionally small (maximum 6 people).
In-person group sessions are £40, also kept small (maximum 6 people), and take place in Muswell Hill.

1:1 sessions are £90 online and £100 in person.

If cost feels like a barrier at the moment, you’re welcome to email me at hello@herwildernature.com.

  • Workplace session pricing is shared on request, depending on your team, format, and what feels most supportive.
